Big win at the 2013 Powder Awards! Who would’ve thought that little ol’ Jay Peak would take the grand prize of the night, beating out segments from TGR, MSP, and the like. Meathead Films delivered probably the best segment of their existence, capturing the true depth and quality of the snow that day. This one is exceptionally special to me as I was able to take part in that 48″ of light, dry, magical fluff that graced the Jay Peak slopes that weekend. Areas like Beyond Beaver Pond and The Dip were soaked full of the deepest virgin powder my fat skis had ever laid a base to. Driving up 91 North through the tail end of the blizzard and arriving to deep, untouched powder under newly bluebird skies – it was a day that dreams are made of.
Flashback to that fateful day:
